Guidelines to followPre & Post Treatment Instructions For Injectables


Below you will find our recommendations for care before and after you have fillers injected, as well as neuromodulators. If you have any questions, please never hesitate to reach out.

Pre Neuromodulator Treatment Instructions

 
 

Initial Appointment

Anticipate 2 appointments, 2 weeks apart. During your initial appointment, baseline dosage is administered. During your follow up visit, we will assess the result and determine if additional units are needed to achieve optimal correction.


Scheduling Considerations

Please schedule your treatment 4-6 weeks before a special occasion to ensure adequate time for your results to take full effect and to allow for an adjustment, if needed.

 

7 - 14 Days Prior

Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications such as Aspirin, Motrin, Advil, Aleve and Ibuprofen for a minimum of 7 to 14 days prior to treatment. If Aspirin or any prescription blood thinners such as Coumadin or Plavix have been prescribed by your physician, please check with your physician before discontinuing. Avoid Gingko Biloba, Garlic, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Fish Oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E, or any other essential fatty acid at least 7 to 14 days prior to treatment.

 

 Post Neuromodulator Treatment Instructions

 
 

Application of Makeup + Skincare Products

Makeup may be applied a few hours after treatment if no complications are present.


Things to avoid

Avoid applying pressure, massaging, or manipulating the treated area after the procedure. Avoid lying down 3 to 4 hours after treatment. No exercise for 24 hours after the procedure.


Other Considerations

Please wait two weeks for full results. You must wait 2 weeks to receive any other skincare procedures such as chemical peels, facials, massages or laser treatments.

 

After Care

Any bumps or marks from the needle will go away within a few hours. Tylenol is okay to take as needed for discomfort or headache. Arnica cream and ice are recommended to treat bruising, after 24 hours switch to warm compress if needed.

Pre Dermal Fillers Treatment Instructions

 
 

Cold Sores

If you are considering lip enhancement there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to an occurrence of a Herpes Simplex outbreak in individuals with a history of cold sores. Prior to your appointment, please request a prescription for an anti-viral medication to minimize or prevent an outbreak.


7 - 14 Days Prior

Avoid fish oils, anti-inflammatory, and blood thinning medications for a minimum of 7 to 14 days prior to treatment. If aspirin or any other blood thinner such as Coumadin or Plavix have been prescribed to you by your physician, please check with your physician before discontinuing.

 

Other Considerations

Arnica Montana and Bromelain are homeopathic preparations that help to decrease the degree of bruising and the length of your healing time. Available at Whole Foods, the Vitamin Shoppe and GNC. Begin 3-5 days prior to treatment. Must be off antibiotics and oral steroids prior to treatment. Vaccines should be administered 2 weeks prior to treatment.

 
 

Post Dermal Fillers Treatment Instructions

 
 

Immediately After

Makeup may be applied the day following your treatment. Avoid touching the area that was treated. Keep skin clean.


Things to Avoid

Avoid applying pressure or massaging/manipulating the area after the procedure. No exercise for 24-48 hours after. No dental procedures for 2-4 weeks post treatment. Vaccines should be administered 2 weeks after treatment.


Other Considerations

Must wait 2 weeks to receive any other skincare procedures such as chemical peels, facials, or massages; 4 weeks to receive any laser treatments or micro-needling procedures.

 

After Care

Bruising, swelling, tenderness, minor redness, minor itching and bumps at the injection site are normal side effects of all injectable procedures. If pain, redness, or itching persists, please call the office. Tylenol as needed for discomfort. Ice as needed for bruising and swelling. Arnica cream and ice are recommended to treat bruising. After 24 hours, switch to a warm compress for any residual bruising.
